CATHERINE KENDALL
Managing Director
Catherine Kendall has worked in the information technology (IT) field for nearly 30 years. After graduating from UC Davis with a BS in Agricultural and Managerial Economics, she went to work for Accenture as a programmer. After two years with Accenture, she was recruited by Deloitte to perform business process reengineering and system testing.
After four years in consulting, Catherine returned to UC Davis to become a student at the Graduate School of Management. After receiving her MBA, Catherine worked for IBM for over ten10 years in increasingly senior roles, with responsibilities for operational contracts exceeding $868 million. While at IBM, Catherine moved around and lived in the Silicon Valley, Sacramento, and New York.
Catherine returned to school after her IBM tenure and earned her Doctorate of Education (EdD) in education policy. Her dissertation was on the experience of domestic violence among African American, Russian, and Hispanic women in Sacramento County.
Upon completion of her doctoral studies, Catherine went to work for KAI Partners as the Managing Director, where she was recruited by the State of California Department of Conservation to be the Chief Information Office (CIO), and would continue to serve within this role where she served for just under 3 years.
Catherine returned to her Managing Director position at KAI Partners where she is currently employed. Catherine continues to provide consulting services for organizations including the State University of New York (SUNY), University of California, Ffederal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other California public sector organizations. She is also an adjunct professor at Sierra College in information technology and at the UCD Graduate School of Management.
In her spare time, Catherine enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and four dogs. Catherine loves to read (especially macroeconomic history), watch scary movies from the ‘80s, play classical piano, and do volunteer work particularly with the elderly.
Catherine's favorite quote is from Abraham Lincoln: "Whatever you are, be a good one."
And please call her ‘Catherine.’
