Youth Co-Lab
Empowering Youth, Changing Perceptions
Growing Leaders, Shifting Systems
At KAI Partners, we believe the best solutions come from the people living the challenges—and that includes youth.
That’s why we're proud to partner with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to create the Youth Co-Lab: a dynamic space where young people can lead, partners can collaborate, and real change can take shape.
Whether you’re here to apply or to learn how we built this model, you’re in the right place.
The future is collaborative—and it starts with youth.
Youth Co-Lab is more than a youth engagement program. It’s a platform for deep listening, learning, and system-level change.
By centering young voices in service design and problem-solving, we’re reshaping how communities and institutions connect.
Developed in partnership with government and nonprofit allies, Youth Co-Lab brings together lived experience and civic innovation to drive lasting impact.
“Youth-driven programs are an important community support because they are designed with, by, and for youth to help reduce stigma, embrace mental wellness, and increase community connection.”

Your Voice Belongs in the Room
Youth Co-Lab is your chance to take the lead on the issues that impact your life and community.
If you're between 14 and 25 and passionate about making change, this program is designed for you. You'll work alongside peers, community leaders, and professionals to develop real solutions to real challenges.
No experience required—just your curiosity, creativity, and commitment to showing up.
"Being involved in this work has shifted how I view mental health. I now consider the unique circumstances each person faces, rather than seeing mental health challenges under one umbrella. This experience has given me the insight and tools to discuss mental health more openly in my community."
